About this course

What the CIW Data Analyst Specialist course covers

This is an online microsoft & data course you work through in your own time, on a phone, tablet or laptop. It is built as 14 modules, so there is an obvious place to stop each time. Nothing expires part way through, so an interrupted evening costs you nothing.

The course works through Fundamentals of Data Analysis, The Importance of Good Data Filtering, Data Structure Types and Centralized Data Benefits. There are 10 further modules beyond those, listed in full on the Modules tab.

It builds on the basics rather than covering them again, so it is the second course on a subject and not the first. We list 18 Microsoft & Data courses, of which 2 sit at Intermediate. Take it as professional training, not a graded award - what it shows is that you have done the learning.

What this course is not: The provider has not stated what the certificate looks like for this one, so ask us first if the certificate is the reason you are buying. It is not an awareness course: if the subject is completely new to you, something introductory will be better value.

Buyer guide

Is this the right course for you?

Best fit

CIW Data Analyst Specialist is a sensible shortlist choice when you want a structured route through the published syllabus rather than a general overview of the whole subject. Its 14-module plan starts with Fundamentals of Data Analysis and The Importance of Good Data Filtering, which gives you a clear indication of the assumed starting point. That shape is likely to be most useful for analysts, administrators and office staff who live in spreadsheets whose training need matches those topics. It is a weaker fit if you only need one isolated skill, or if an employer has specified a different standard, awarding body or practical assessment. Before buying, compare that requirement with the final modules on Marketing data on customers and Sales data as well as the course title.

How to use the syllabus

Treat the module list as a study plan, not just a contents page. Begin with Fundamentals of Data Analysis and The Importance of Good Data Filtering and note any terms or processes you need to revisit. Around the middle, Types of Data acts as a useful checkpoint: if you can explain that material without looking back, move on; if not, repeat the preceding section before adding more. The later work on Marketing data on customers and Sales data is where you can test whether the earlier ideas connect. After each block, write a short example from your own work or a realistic scenario. That simple retrieval step makes self-paced learning more useful than clicking straight through to completion.

Check before enrolling

The provider gives no fixed study-hour estimate, so use the module count to plan several shorter sessions rather than assuming it can be completed in one sitting. No fixed access period is stated in the validated course facts; ask us before enrolling if a deadline matters to your plans. The provider has not supplied reliable certificate details for this course, so confirm them with us if certification is your main reason for enrolling. No CPD accreditation is stated. That is fine for skills development, but not when a workplace policy specifically requires accredited training.
