Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Cheap Online Courses collects, why we collect it, and what your rights are. It applies to everyone who visits our website, buys a course, gives us their email address, or uses our course-assistant chat.

Who we are and how to contact us

Knightsbridge Digital Academy Ltd, trading as Cheap Online Courses, is the data controller for the information you give us on this website. Our address is 4 Montpelier Street, Knightsbridge, London, SW7 1EE. You can contact us about your data at any time at hello@cheaponlinecourses.co.uk.

What we collect

  • When you buy a course: your name, email address, and billing address. Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details.
  • When you sign up for a discount code: your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your first name. This is collected through the pop-up that offers 10% off your first order.
  • When you use the course-assistant chat: your messages, the assistant’s replies, the page where the conversation started, and the conversation transcript. If you choose to provide them after receiving help, we also collect your first name, email address, course interest, and the reason for your enquiry.
  • Automatically: your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This is standard website and security data used to keep the site working and understand how it is used.

How the AI course assistant works

Our website chat uses GoHighLevel’s Conversation AI to answer course-discovery and store-policy questions from information we have approved. It may recommend or compare courses, but it does not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. AI-generated answers can be incomplete or wrong, so you can ask for a person at any time. Sensitive, uncertain, complaint, refund, order, payment, privacy, or account questions are passed to our team for human review in GoHighLevel Conversations.

You do not have to provide your name or email address to receive the first useful answer, and you can continue without providing them. Giving an email address in chat lets us identify the conversation and respond to your enquiry. It does not sign you up for marketing.

Why we use your data

  • To process your order, deliver your course access, and send you the login details you need.
  • To send you the welcome email with your discount code, if you signed up for one.
  • To answer course questions, provide recommendations, respond to support requests, and hand a chat to a person when needed.
  • To review chat quality, investigate incorrect answers, and improve the information supplied to the assistant.
  • To send you order confirmations and necessary course-related emails.
  • To keep records for accounting, tax, security, and legal purposes.

We use this information to take steps you request before a purchase, perform our contract with you, meet legal obligations, and pursue our legitimate interests in providing customer service and operating a safe, accurate website. Where consent is required, such as for optional marketing, we ask for it separately.

Marketing emails and the discount pop-up

If you sign up for a 10% welcome code through the pop-up, we use your email address to send the code and the welcome email. The website sends that email through our email provider. Your contact details are also sent to our GoHighLevel account so we can manage our contact list.

The marketing choice shown with the discount pop-up is separate from the course-assistant chat. Providing an email address in chat does not create marketing consent, and we will not add a chat contact to ongoing marketing unless they make a separate, clear choice to subscribe.

Payment processing

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe is the data controller for your card information; we receive confirmation that the payment succeeded and limited payment details needed for our records. Stripe’s privacy policy is available on its website.

Cookies and local storage

This website uses cookies and similar browser storage to keep you logged in, remember what is in your cart, suppress a dismissed pop-up, reconnect a chat conversation, protect the site, and measure how the site is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings. We do not use advertising cookies.

How long we keep your data

  • Order records: for as long as required by tax and accounting law, typically 6 years.
  • Discount pop-up contacts: until you ask us to delete them, or for 24 months if you do not make a purchase.
  • Course-assistant chat contacts and transcripts: for up to 24 months after the last conversation, unless the conversation forms part of an order, complaint, legal request, or support record that must be kept longer.
  • Website analytics and security logs: for up to 24 months.

Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct data that is wrong or out of date.
  • Ask us to delete your data, unless we are required to keep it by law.
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Object to how we use your data, or ask us to limit it.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are not happy with how we handle your data.

To exercise any of these rights, or to ask for human review of a chat, email hello@cheaponlinecourses.co.uk.

Sharing data with third parties

We share data only with service providers needed to run the store:

  • Stripe — to process card payments under its own privacy policy.
  • GoHighLevel — to manage contacts, operate the website chat, process Conversation AI replies, store chat transcripts, and route conversations to our team. GoHighLevel processes this data on our behalf.
  • Our hosting and email providers — to operate the website and deliver necessary emails.

Some service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we use the contractual and legal safeguards required by UK data-protection law. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else unless required by law.

Security

Payment data is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. We limit access to names, email addresses, orders, contacts, and chat transcripts to people who need them to run the business, respond to enquiries, or investigate a problem. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we and our providers use access controls and other appropriate technical and organisational measures.

Children’s privacy

Our courses are aimed at adults and professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have collected a child’s data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The version that applies is the version published on this page when you use the website.
