About this course

What the Microsoft MD-101: Managing Modern Desktops course covers

Microsoft MD-101: Managing Modern Desktops runs online from start to finish, so you decide when you study and how much you cover at a time. The material comes as 4 modules and takes about 6 hours end to end. The 12 months of access matter more than they sound: refresher reading before an inspection or an appraisal is free.

The material takes in Deploy and Update Operating Systems, Manage Policies and Profiles, Manage and Protect Devices and Manage Apps and Data.

The content follows the MD-101 objectives, so it is aimed squarely at people working towards that exam. We list 18 Microsoft & Data courses, of which 12 sit at Professional development. At this length it is one of the quicker ones in the subject. It sits in the training column rather than the qualifications one, which is worth knowing if an employer has asked for something specific.

What this course is not: The MD-101 exam fee is not included in this price - you book that with the test provider when you are ready. The provider has not stated what the certificate looks like for this one, so ask us first if the certificate is the reason you are buying.

Full course details from the training provider

The MD-101 Managing Modern Desktops exam measures ability to accomplish the following technical tasks: deploy and update operating systems; manage policies and profiles; manage and protect devices; and manage apps and data. If you passed Exam 70-698 before it expired on March 31, 2019, you only need to take one exam (MD-101) on or before July 31, 2019 to earn the Modern Desktop certification. Starting August 1, 2019, both MD-100 and MD-101 are required exams and the only path to earn a Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate certification.
Note: The exam measures your ability to accomplish the technical tasks listed above. The percentages indicate the relative weight of each major topic area on the exam. The higher the percentage, the more questions you are likely to see on that content area on the exam.
