About this course

What the Person-Centred Care course covers

Person-Centred Care is taught entirely online, so there is nothing to attend and no start date to wait for. There are 6 modules to work through, and most people give it 45 minutes in total. You are not racing an expiry date, which is the difference between finishing a course and abandoning it.

What it covers: Course Overview, Definitions and Values, Care Plans and Consent and Daily Reports. Another 2 modules follow, and the Modules tab lists every one of them.

It builds on the basics rather than covering them again, so it is the second course on a subject and not the first. We list 98 Compliance & Risk courses, of which 46 sit at Intermediate. At this length it is one of the quicker ones in the subject. CPD accreditation is included, so the training evidences itself for an appraisal or an inspection.

Worth knowing before you buy: It is not an awareness course: if the subject is completely new to you, something introductory will be better value.

Person-centered Care Online Course

CPD Approved

What do we mean by Person Centred Care, well the term originated in the 1940s and proposed taking a holistic view of service users in care settings? This means getting to know the person and then tailoring their care as much as possible to meet their specific needs. Person-centered care is now a key principle outlined in current legislation and it plays an important part in the standards that they set out which must be followed by all care professionals working in this country.

It starts by explaining what we mean by person-centered care and where this term originated. It then goes on to analyze the values represented by person-centered care and explains why care should be as much as possible tailored to each service user. Finally, it will give you an overview of care plans, daily reports, the importance of obtaining consent, and much more.
